Korra and Asami both show genuine romantic interest toward multiple genders throughout the series. One of the creators specifically used the word “bisexual” in his official confirmation that Korrasami is canon. They are both bi.

If I can be excited by lesbian representation in media and relate to it without trying to relabel lesbian characters as bisexual, then lesbians can be excited by this groundbreaking, nuanced, non-hypersexualized representation of two bi women of color without erasing their bisexuality.

Okay I apologize in advanced but this bothers me so much. For those of you who are wondering, bisexuality is the attraction to TWO GENDERS. NOT two or more. Bi meaning two, Poly meaning many, and pan meaning all. Each sexuality or romantic preference is its own individual spectrum and differs from the others.

Yo, OCTO means eight but OCTOber is the 10th month. I don’t see you tearing up calenders because of that. I don’t see anyone getting upset about that. It’s almost as if the meaning if words can change. If you think a prefix in a dead language is more important than the feelings of the bisexual people as a community then I don’t know what to say to you.

livelaughawesome:

when i say that i want “bisexual representation” in media

i mean that i want bisexual cis women who fuck anybody they want to

i mean that i want bisexual cis men who have only ever dated one woman but still know they’re bi

i mean that i want bisexual gq folks who have never fucked anybody

i mean that i want bisexual trans women who has a serious boyfriend and a serious girlfriend

i mean that i want bisexual trans men who are also aromantic

i mean that i want bisexual men who constantly scream at their friends that “I AM NOT GAY”

i mean that i want bisexual women who only ever dated women and thought they were lesbians until they met the one man who made them realize

i mean that i want bisexuals who get married, but still actively call themselves bisexual

i mean that i want bisexuals who experience their sexuality and identities in different ways

i mean that i want bisexuals who are huge fucking radicals and i want bisexuals who don’t give a fuck about politics

i mean that i want fat bisexuals and thin bisexuals, i want black bisexuals and first nation bisexuals and asian bisexuals and eastern european bisexuals and australian indigenous bisexuals, i want bisexuals in wheel chairs and bisexuals with bipolar disorder and bisexuals who take steroids to manage their crohn’s disease, i want bisexuals who work three jobs and bisexuals who live with their parents, i want trans bisexuals and intersex bisexuals and genderqueer bisexuals and cis bisexuals. i want bisexuals with kids and bisexuals who foster children and bisexuals who have six dogs and bisexuals who live alone. i want bisexuals who love being bisexual and i want bisexuals who hate being bisexual.

i want bisexuals everywhere. i want our complexities to be described in more ways than a handful of characters could ever define.

jessica rabbit is literally a sex symbol though she can’t be asexual?

madmanswords:

horreurscopes:

she is in romo with a rabbit because he makes her laugh and aside from using her looks to get things out of people she literally never once shows interest in anything or anyone sexually through the entire movie and is clearly appalled when anyone makes advances towards her like there is canonical evidence that jessica rabbit from the classic motion picture who framed rogger rabbit is an asexual character

She specifically have the line, “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”
While not directly related to the idea, it easily translates to the idea that her status as a sex symbol is something that’s decided for her and has nothing to do with her own ambitions or personality.

Mm, at one point Eddie says (about Roger), “Better lover than a driver huh?” and she says, “You’d better believe it buster.” I can totally see her as asexual and love the idea, but there is that line. I suppose she could just be answering in the way that will garner the least amount of judgment, or habitually.

So I just need to get this off my chest:

For me David Kawena from Lilo and Stitch is the ultimate Disney prince because he is there for Nani AND Lilo and even Stitch despite everything that’s going on in their lives. They’re going through some tough stuff. Their parents die and all of the sudden Nani has to be a mom to her sister who is socially awkward and depressed and that’s hard enough as it is and then she gets her this ‘dog’ and everything gets harder and even though she can’t return David’s feelings he’s still there for them through everything. Even aliens. He’s amazing. I was watching Lilo and Stitch with my niece the other day and I cried watching David go through it all. He is the perfect guy. Like I just get emotional thinking about him.

Imagine if you had someone like David in your life – male or female. You would feel like a prince/princess even if you were living with next to nothing.

David is the ultimate Disney prince – even though he isn’t a Disney prince. He should be considered one.

Disney rant – over.

Reminder that David:

-has no curse to break
-does not have a deadline/ultimatum to find a wife
-has no financial/social gain from being with Nani
-is told ¼ of the way into the movie that Nani is too busy to worry about dating him AND PROCEEDS TO BE HELPFUL AND SUPPORTIVE ANYWAY.

David’s not a Disney prince because he’s too fucking awesome for that title.

AN ACTUAL NON-IRONIC,NON-SELF DESCRIBING NICE GUY.

A PROPER HUMAN BEING.

Photographer James C. Lewis of Noire3000 | N3K Photo Studios was tired of the Media’s White Washing ; so in a series of Photographs, depicted some of the most famous Bible characters as people of African and Middle Eastern Origin.

I think it is very important to see one’s self in the Scripture so that it may become real in their eyes. The whitewashing of the Bible has always bothered me. However I’m happy to now have the opportunity to give a different point of view.

The series will be fully released on the 14th November in a three night exhibition.

THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY FINALLY THEY NEED TO SHOW THESE IN EVERY CHURCH

And now make a movie of this please. These are wonderful.

Mind-blowing 6-song mash-up shows just how formulaic country music has become

If you’ve listened to country on the radio recently, you know how bro-y the genre has gotten. It’s become a bland and formulaic mesh of July nights with girls in skintight denim shorts sliding into trucks and just chilling it. But few likely realize just how bad it is.

It turns out some of the No. 1 tunes from the past few years don’t just share similar elements, many of them are essentially the exact same song. The following mash-up by Greg Todd, a Nashville songwriter merges six of country’s biggest hits from the past two years to create a single Frankenstein bro country monstrosity that is disturbingly catchy.

If you’re wondering how creepy it is, the answer is SUPER.

At this rate, I think I could become a #1 Country artist.

Ah. Physical proof of why I don’t like country music. Finally!

And this is why I stopped listening to country music.
