6. Idea that you always wanted to write but could never make work?

In the Transformers ‘verse… I always kind of wanted to do an origin story for TFP Knockout and Breakdown, where Knockout is a spoiled rich brat and meets Breakdown while slumming and falls for him at the beginning of the Decepticon revolution.

Non-Transformers, something I tackled for NaNo once, a world where magic is brought forward through poems.  There are those who can’t use the poetry for reasons unknown and they’re shunned, but have hidden in society.  Some grow bitter, one figures out that burning the written poems destroys the words’ power.  As the poetry grows weaker, those who had been previously unable to use magic discover different ways.  The story is a forbidden love between a High Mage and one of the non-magic ones, and what happens as one wanes and one waxes, discovering that his magic comes forward through physical motion (specifically with a sword).

7. Least favorite plot point/chapter/moment?

Umm…. anything where a character is able to solve something too easily.  I’m having trouble thinking of specifics right now, but anything that cuts a recovery process short, I think.  There’s a moment in To Build a Trine with Skywarp that comes to mind that I’d probably go back and work on, as Skywarp works through his recovery.

8. Favorite plot point/chapter/moment?

Oh so many to choose from… but I might have to pick the first chapter of Delicacy for favorite chapter, and probably something later in that fic for favorite moment. Stratus’s illness in that could win plot point, too.  Basically I adore that story.

9. Favorite character to write?

Starscream.  Though I don’t think I’m very good at him sometimes.

10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you’ve written

Umm… this chapter (it’s short, I couldn’t pick just part of it) http://archiveofourown.org/works/1074339/chapters/2179878 (NSFW)

11. If I’m showing off just one of your pieces to someone, which one should it be?

If they are okay with darkness, Delicacy.  If not … Most Unlikely of Events.

12. What WIPs do you have going now? Are you excited about them?

I have a story about G1 Starscream/Steve that I’m excited to get further into.  Cowritten, a piece bringing back Radiance.  On the far back burner, my severely overdue Optimus/Starscream Advent challenge fic.

At the end of last year my best friend was suddenly in the country for the first time in almost three years, and even better, in the same state. Thing is, she came back to try to help her family get her little brother into AA, and was thrown into all kinds of broken family chaos… I spent a lot of time debriefing with her. Then the last day we were supposed to be able to hang out, turns out was the day of her flight and I got to see her for five minutes before she rushed to the airport and I’ve been out of whack since.

But I got a promotion at work and I’ve gotten myself into some good habits with food (still working on the exercise) and going a good job of getting out of the depression hole that Ohio was.  Colorado’s being good to me.

Anyway, no point to this, except to say that right before all this started I had started answering some meme asks and never finished and I’m going to finish them in an effort to jump start my writing drive. So they seem out of nowhere, but they’re from months back.

DO YOU KNOW THAT KIND OF WRITER’S BLOCK WHERE YOU ALREADY HAVE A PLOT, YOU KNOW WHAT TO WRITE BUT YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO WRITE IT AND YOU JUST STARE AT THE COMPUTER SCREEN FOR HOURS UNTIL YOU FINALLY CLOSE THE DOCUMENT AND CURSE YOUR ENTIRE EXISTENCE

Fic writing questions!

So reblog this if I can pop into your box and ask you questions about writing (You can probably make a version for art, too). And you can ask them to me if you really want to.

1. Which is your favorite of the fics you’ve written for X fandom?
2. Favorite piece overall?
3. Which was the hardest to write, in terms of plot?
4. Which has the most “you” in it, however you’d define that?
5. What is an image/set of images that you’re particularly proud of?
6. Idea that you always wanted to write but could never make work?
7. Least favorite plot point/chapter/moment?
8. Favorite plot point/chapter/moment?
9. Favorite character to write?
10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you’ve written
11. If I’m showing off just one of your pieces to someone, which one should it be?
12. What WIPs do you have going now? Are you excited about them?
13. Are there any things that might have happened in any of your stories, but you changed them at the last minute? (So-and-so dies, they don’t actually kiss, main character has long extended ballet-based dream sequence, etc.)
14. Would you want to write canon for any of your fandoms (like be hired by showrunner to do an episode)? Which one?
15. Does font matter to you when you’re writing a draft?
16. 3 favorite comments ever received on fanfic.
